You have entered the world of James Ford and his family.
I have spent a number of years researching and documenting the life of James Ford, his ancestors and his family. In this venture, I have been assisted by any number of people whose help I value and acknowledge.
I have faithfully incorporated all relevant information which I have gleaned at the time of writing. However, it should be noted that I have not placed this material on any genealogical website and I would ask that others also refrain from such temptation. Apart from the fact that I have found a substantial amount of material factually inaccurate, it is ethically questionable that such websites then charge others for access to information which technically does not belong to them and which is otherwise generally freely available or retrievable from national archives at moderate cost. In other words, such sites can do as they like with the information supplied with apparent immunity from any copyright law.
Let it be noted, at no time I have given permission, fully or implied, supplied or permitted any material that appears on this website to any other website.
While fair dealing with the material herein supplied for personal or family use is encouraged, strict copyright applies. Excerpts and links may be used by those interested in the genealogy of Samuel Ford, his heirs or his children, or their heirs and their children, provided that full and clear credit is given to the author with appropriate and specific direction to the original sources.
The accuracy of the material herein presented is believed to be reliable at the time of writing.
While every effort has been made to trace and acknowledge the sources of the material accessed whilst undertaking research, it is the case that much of the material and many of the photographs are simply not traceable. Inevitably, there will be instances where references are either inconclusive or broken.
Most reproductions used herein are beyond their 70-year copyright statutory limit or can be found readily within the public domain.
Photos supplied by Corrine Fordschmid, John Ford and Tim Ford remain their respective property.
I would also like to thank the many contributors to Millport Photos who share their beautiful photos of Millport and the surrounding scenery of Cumbrae. I have incorporated some of their material on this website.
Those wishing further details may contact me, John Ford, at firstname.lastname@example.org or via Facebook Messenger.
